Leavitt’s New Job Revealed

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has revealed her next career move after announcing her departure from the Trump administration, and she won’t be going far from President Donald Trump’s political operation.

Leavitt announced Friday that she plans to return to MAGA Inc., the powerful pro-Trump super PAC supporting Trump’s political agenda.

The move will keep one of the White House’s most recognizable conservative voices involved in Republican politics as the country heads toward the critical 2026 midterm elections.

Leavitt, 28, is scheduled to leave her White House position at the end of August. She announced earlier this month that she wanted to devote more time to her family after welcoming her second child in May.

Leavitt Returning to Pro-Trump Political Group

Leavitt’s destination is familiar territory.

Before joining Trump’s presidential campaign, she worked for MAGA Inc. from 2022 through 2024. Her return means she will once again become involved with an organization dedicated to supporting Trump’s political movement.

MAGA Inc. operates as a super PAC, a type of political action committee that can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money to influence federal elections.

Super PACs frequently spend money on political advertising and other election-related activities. Federal campaign finance rules, however, generally prohibit them from coordinating their independent expenditures directly with candidates or their official campaigns.

That distinction allows organizations such as MAGA Inc. to play an influential role in American elections while remaining legally separate from a candidate’s campaign committee.

Midterm Elections Loom Over Washington

The timing of Leavitt’s move is significant.

Republicans and Democrats are preparing for the November midterm elections, when voters will determine control of Congress and decide numerous important state and federal races across the country.

The results could have major consequences for Trump’s ability to advance his legislative agenda during the remainder of his term.

President Trump was asked Friday about the search for her replacement and suggested there has been tremendous interest in the position.

Trump said he had “never had so many job applications in my life,” indicating that the White House has no shortage of people interested in succeeding Leavitt.

The administration had not publicly named her replacement at the time of the president’s remarks.

Whoever receives the job will inherit one of the most visible positions in Washington, serving as a primary spokesperson for the president and regularly facing questions from the White House press corps.

Leavitt Made White House History

Leavitt made history when she became the youngest White House press secretary ever to hold the position.

She quickly emerged as one of the Trump administration’s most prominent public representatives, regularly defending the president’s policies and responding to criticism from Democrats, journalists and other political opponents.

Her position placed her at the center of daily battles over major issues including the economy, immigration, national security, federal spending and Trump’s domestic policy agenda.

But Leavitt has also experienced a major change in her personal life.

She gave birth to her second child in early May and announced on Aug. 12 that she had decided to leave the administration so she could spend additional time with her family.

Rather than completely leaving the political arena, however, Leavitt is moving into a different role.
