BREAKING: Pelosi Attacked
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi was violently attacked in his San Francisco home. Speaker Pelosi was not at the home at the time of the attack.
According to Reuters, Paul Pelosi who is 82 was rushed to the hospital following the attack and is expected to make a full recovery.
Furthermore, Nancy Pelosi was safe in Washington D.C. at the time of the attack.
Capitol Police has issued a statement and said that while the suspect is in custody the motive for the attack in unclear at the time. The Associated Press has said that the attack was NOT random and the attacker specifically targeted Pelosi’s home.
Nancy Pelosi’s spokesperson Drew Hammill said in a statement, “Early this morning, an assailant broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco and violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi. The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation. Mr. Pelosi was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery. The Speaker was not in San Francisco at the time.”
San Francisco Police said they were alerted about a home break in at 02:27 a.m. Pacific time and the suspect was arrested.
Paul Pelosi’s attacker was wielding a hammer and Mr. Pelosi is currently being treated for bruises, severe swelling, and injuries to his head and body.
President Biden reached out to Speaker Pelosi following the attack.
