Democrats Call Out Own Party

Democratic Sen. Cory Booker publicly criticized his own party’s leadership Sunday after a controversial internal review of Democrats’ 2024 election collapse sparked outrage inside the party.

Speaking during an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Booker said the Democratic National Committee needs major changes if Democrats hope to recover from their devastating election losses and reconnect with frustrated American voters.

“The Democratic Party desperately needs new leadership,” Booker admitted, revealing that he has been unhappy with party leadership “for a long time.”

His comments come as Democrats continue struggling with internal divisions, voter dissatisfaction, and growing concerns about the party’s future following President Donald Trump’s political resurgence.

Booker warned that constant Democrat infighting only helps Republicans while many Americans remain focused on rising costs, economic pressure, health care concerns, and border security.

“What Republicans would love to see is Democrats spending all their time fighting each other instead of addressing the problems facing everyday Americans,” Booker said.

The New Jersey senator stopped short of naming specific Democrat leaders he believes should step aside. He also denied his criticism was aimed directly at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Democrat Election Report Sparks Backlash

Booker’s frustration exploded into public view just days after Democrats faced embarrassment over the release of a draft report examining the party’s disastrous 2024 election performance.

The internal review, reportedly prepared by longtime Democrat strategist Paul Rivera, immediately drew criticism after observers discovered numerous mistakes throughout the document.

Critics pointed to typographical errors, incomplete sections, questionable statistics, missing citations, and major omissions involving some of the biggest controversies surrounding the 2024 campaign.

Progressive activists were especially angry that the report barely addressed concerns over former President Joe Biden and voter worries about his age and leadership abilities during the election season.

Others blasted the report for largely avoiding discussion of internal Democrat divisions over the Israel-Hamas conflict, an issue that deeply divided parts of the party’s base.

DNC Chairman Ken Martin later admitted the document was not fully prepared for public release after months of pressure demanding transparency from party leadership.

The controversy has only intensified frustration among Democrats already concerned about campaign messaging, leadership strategy, and the party’s direction heading into future elections.

Booker Says Americans Want Real Solutions

Despite criticizing his own party, Booker argued that Americans care far more about real-world problems than political drama inside Washington.

“I’m tired of all the political maneuvering,” Booker said, pointing to Americans struggling with higher prices, economic uncertainty, and fears about losing health insurance coverage.

Still, Booker made clear he plans to continue pushing Democrats to change course moving forward.

“You can be sure I’m going to keep speaking out about what our party needs to do differently,” he said.

Booker is currently preparing for his reelection campaign ahead of the November election as Democrats continue facing growing questions about leadership, strategy, and voter confidence.
