Bolton Says Trump Trying To Win What?

In a sharp rebuke of President Trump’s latest strategy on Iran, former National Security Advisor John Bolton is sounding the alarm. Speaking on the Financial Times podcast Swamp Notes, Bolton warned that Trump’s recent airstrikes and diplomatic posturing may be driven less by national interest—and more by a personal campaign for the Nobel Peace Prize.

“I think he’s campaigning for the Nobel Prize,” Bolton said, noting that Trump hoped for international recognition after involvement in Ukraine and elsewhere. “Now he sees Iran as the next shot.”

Trump Strikes Iran, Eyes Peace Prize?

Last week, the Trump administration launched targeted airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites—meant to halt Tehran’s military ambitions and calm tensions between Iran and Israel. The strikes were precise and widely praised by hawkish voices, but Bolton suggested there may be more behind the move than meets the eye.

“He thought he’d win a peace prize over Ukraine. That didn’t happen. So now it’s Iran,” Bolton said.

Meanwhile, lawmakers in the GOP have begun formally nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, and the government of Pakistan has already submitted his name. Trump himself has expressed frustration that he’s been snubbed by global elites, despite brokering peace in conflict zones like Rwanda, Sudan, and the Abraham Accords.

$30 Billion for Iran’s Nuclear Program?

What’s raising conservative eyebrows even more is a report—denied by Trump—that the U.S. may help Tehran access up to $30 billion in funding for its so-called “civilian” nuclear program. Bolton didn’t hold back.

“This is absolute madness,” he said. “You can’t trust the ayatollahs. Verifying their intentions would require deep, intrusive inspections—something they’ll never agree to.”

Bolton emphasized that any deal with Tehran would be doomed to fail without transparency, calling the regime “a group of medieval religious fanatics.”

Trump Threatens More Strikes If Iran Escalates

While initially branding the airstrikes as a limited effort to disable Iran’s nuclear capabilities, Trump’s rhetoric has since escalated. On Friday, he warned that if Iran advances its nuclear agenda, more military action is possible.

Bolton remains deeply skeptical.

“This isn’t a Manhattan real estate deal. You’re dealing with radical ideologues who want to see America fall,” he said.

Bolton: Talks With Tehran Are “Pointless”

Even before the current Israel-Iran conflict erupted, Bolton dismissed talks with Iran as a waste of time. On Friday, he doubled down, branding the regime “fanatics who will never deal honestly with the West.”

As the world watches and tensions mount, one thing is clear: America’s Iran policy is once again front and center—and conservatives are demanding clarity, strength, and accountability.
