Giuliani Says Trump Is Right

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Friday that President Donald Trump is sounding the alarm on an issue many Americans should take seriously, warning that the United States could experience the same immigration problems that have transformed parts of Europe if border security weakens again.

Speaking on Newsmax’s “Ed Henry: The Big Take,” Giuliani backed Trump’s comments made during a Cabinet meeting at Camp David, where the president warned that a Democrat victory in the 2026 midterm elections could reverse recent gains on border security.

Trump pointed to the recent migrant surge into Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta, arguing that similar scenes in the United States could become even worse if illegal immigration is no longer aggressively addressed.

Giuliani Points to Europe as a Warning

Giuliani said Europe provides a real-world example of what can happen when governments fail to enforce immigration laws over an extended period.

“What you’re seeing in Europe didn’t happen overnight,” Giuliani said. “These situations develop gradually until they become much harder to control.”

According to Giuliani, years of relaxed immigration policies have reshaped politics across several European nations while creating new challenges for law enforcement and public officials.

He argued that governments in countries such as England have become increasingly reluctant to confront illegal immigration, Islamic extremism, and cultural conflicts that have emerged in some communities.

Spain and France Face Growing Immigration Challenges

Giuliani also criticized Spain’s leadership, arguing that the country’s government has failed to respond aggressively to the growing migrant crisis.

He compared Spain’s immigration policies to those of former President Joe Biden, claiming that weak enforcement encourages additional illegal migration rather than discouraging it.

While discussing Europe more broadly, Giuliani said France continues to face significant immigration-related challenges and argued that Britain has also struggled to respond effectively.

According to Giuliani, many European leaders have either ignored the problem or lacked the political will to fully address it.

Giorgia Meloni Praised for Tougher Border Policies

Giuliani contrasted those governments with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, whom he credited with taking stronger action to reduce illegal immigration.

He said Meloni has made measurable progress despite operating within the limits of Italy’s political system.

Giuliani argued that President Trump has gone even further by working closely with federal and state law enforcement agencies to strengthen border enforcement during his administration.

Immigration Remains a Top Issue Heading Into 2026

Drawing on his recent travels throughout Europe, Giuliani said immigration conditions vary from country to country, but he described France as currently facing the most serious problems.

His remarks come as immigration and border security continue to rank among the top issues for Republican voters heading into the 2026 midterm elections.

Supporters of President Trump argue that stronger border enforcement has helped reduce illegal crossings and improve national security, while Democrats continue to push for broader immigration reforms alongside enforcement measures.
