GOP Says Trump Has A 'Good Heart,' You Agree?

Trump Jr Gets Into With NY Governor

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul found herself getting roasted online Wednesday after attempting to mock President Donald Trump’s loyalty to the New York Knicks — only to make a major basketball blunder in the process.

The Democrat governor tried to question whether Trump was a “real” Knicks fan during a conversation with reporters. Hochul joked that someone should ask the president to name the starting lineup from the Knicks’ “1993 championship team.”

There was just one problem.

The Knicks never won a championship in 1993.

Instead, the team was eliminated that season by Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals. The following year, New York reached the NBA Finals but lost in seven games to the Houston Rockets.

The embarrassing mistake immediately sparked backlash online, with critics accusing Hochul of trying to score a cheap political shot without knowing the facts.

Donald Trump Jr. quickly fired back in defense of his father, saying anyone familiar with President Trump knows he has a deep knowledge of sports and longtime ties to New York athletics.

Trump Jr. wrote on social media that people who know his father understand he has an unusually deep knowledge of sports compared to most people outside the industry.

He also slammed Hochul’s leadership, saying her “failed soundbite” would crash just like her policies.

The online feud escalated even further when Hochul’s office mocked Trump Jr. over the president missing his recent wedding to Bettina Anderson, joking that Trump apparently had “time to go to a basketball game” but not the ceremony.

The exchange instantly exploded across social media as users piled onto the governor over the failed attack.

Even some Democrats appeared unimpressed.

Melissa DeRosa, a former top aide to ex-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, blasted Hochul’s comment as a “stupid thing to face plant over.”

DeRosa also highlighted that Hochul is originally from Buffalo — not New York City — while Trump was born and raised in Queens and has spent decades closely connected to New York sports culture.

DeRosa wrote that people do not have to support Trump politically to recognize that he has probably been a dedicated Knicks fan for most of his life.

The controversy comes as excitement grows around the Knicks’ first NBA Finals appearance since 1999.

President Trump recently confirmed he plans to attend one of the Finals games at Madison Square Garden after receiving invitations from several people, including Knicks owner James Dolan.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for June 3, while New York will host Games 3 and 4 in front of packed crowds at Madison Square Garden.

For many conservatives online, Hochul’s failed Knicks jab became another example of Democrats trying to score viral moments against Trump — only to watch the attack collapse under basic facts.
