Trump’s Warning To Texas Voters

President Donald Trump intensified his support for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Sunday, urging Republican voters to back the longtime conservative ally in Texas’s high-profile Senate runoff election.

In a social media post directed at Texas voters, Trump praised Paxton’s record as attorney general and highlighted the candidate’s loyalty during what he described as years of political attacks against his administration.

“Ken Paxton was a great Attorney General, probably the best in the country,” Trump wrote. “He was also very loyal to your favorite President, ME.”

Trump also emphasized his strong electoral success in Texas, reminding supporters of his victories in the state and describing Texas as a key battleground for protecting conservative values and election integrity.

The president contrasted Paxton with his opponent, Sen. John Cornyn, suggesting the longtime senator did not do enough to support major election reform efforts supported by many conservatives.

Trump pointed specifically to policies such as voter ID requirements, proof of citizenship for voting, and tighter controls on mail-in ballots, while maintaining exceptions for military personnel, illness, disability, and travel-related circumstances.

“What more needs to be said?” Trump wrote. “Vote for Ken Paxton on Tuesday — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!!!”

Trump’s Endorsement Shakes Up Texas GOP Race

The endorsement has dramatically reshaped the Republican primary runoff, turning the contest into one of the most closely watched Senate races in the nation.

Earlier in the race, Trump gave Paxton his endorsement, calling the Texas attorney general a committed supporter of the MAGA movement who has repeatedly championed conservative policies across the state. In an earlier Truth Social message, Trump said Paxton has a strong track record of delivering results for Texas conservatives and predicted he would continue that work if elected to the U.S. Senate.

Paxton has built strong support among grassroots conservatives, particularly voters aligned with the America First movement. His campaign has focused heavily on border security, election integrity, and opposition to federal overreach — issues that continue to energize Republican voters across Texas.

Some Senate Republicans Push Back

Not all Republicans have welcomed Trump’s endorsement decision.

Several Senate Republicans expressed disappointment that Trump chose to back Paxton instead of Cornyn, who has served in the Senate for years and remains closely tied to the party establishment in Washington.

Sen. Susan Collins of Maine publicly questioned the endorsement and praised Cornyn’s record in the Senate.

“John Cornyn is an outstanding senator,” Collins said, adding that she believed he deserved Trump’s support.

Despite criticism from some establishment Republicans, Paxton continues to receive strong backing from conservative voters who see him as a fighter willing to challenge Washington insiders and defend Trump-era policies.

Texas Runoff Draws National Attention

Political analysts say Tuesday’s runoff could become a major test of Trump’s continued influence within the Republican Party ahead of the 2026 election cycle.

The race has already attracted national attention from conservative activists, donors, and Republican strategists who view Texas as a critical state for advancing the GOP agenda in the Senate.

With early voting numbers drawing significant interest, both campaigns are making their final push to energize Republican voters before Election Day.
