Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Donald Trump, officially married model and social media influencer Bettina Anderson during a private wedding ceremony in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Thursday.
According to Palm Beach County records, the ceremony was intentionally kept small and personal, with longtime Trump family associate and real estate attorney Brad McPherson serving as officiant.
While the wedding itself was a quiet affair, reports indicate the newly married couple plans to celebrate with a much larger gathering on a private island in the Bahamas in the near future.
The wedding quickly drew national attention after President Trump publicly explained why he would likely remain in Washington instead of attending the event in person. The president emphasized that his priority remains leading the country during a critical time both at home and abroad.
“I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time,” President Trump previously stated while congratulating the couple.
The president also referenced growing tensions involving Iran and ongoing international concerns as part of the reason he needed to stay focused on official responsibilities. Trump made clear that although he deeply wanted to attend his son’s wedding, serving the American people came first.
“He’d like me to go, but it’s going to be just a small, little private affair,” Trump told reporters. “I’m in the midst of dealing with Iran and many other things.”
